Hours and PIN Information

Welcome to Lake Washington Institute of Technology's Student Toolbox online services for students.

Using Student Toolbox

The Toolbox (Online Services) are available these hours:

Sunday 24 hours
Monday Midnight to 10 pm
Tuesday 5:00 am to 10 pm
Wednesday 5:00 am to 10 pm
Thursday 5:00 am to 10 pm
Friday 5:00 am to 10 pm
Saturday 5:00 am to Midnight

The following services* are available through the Website using the Toolbox tools menu at the left. You will need your PIN (Personal Identification Number) and SID (Student Identification number) to access much of this information. If you do not know your SID, use this screen to get it.

*Class Details and Schedule Planner features do not require use of Student Identification numbers or PINs.

• Plan your class schedule
• Check class information, enrollment, meeting times, location, instructor, etc.
• Pick classes by location - on/off campus, distance learning
Use the Degree Audit to see which classes you you are lacking for your degree/certificate Yes
• Check your registration appointment (continuing degree and certificate students) Yes
Register - add and drop classes Yes
• Check your schedule of classes (Hint: Check your grades here before they appear on your transcript. Keep in mind that while grades on your transcript are final, grades on your schedule are preliminary and could change.) Yes
Add yourself to a waitlist if a class is full Yes
• Monitor your position or drop from a waitlist
• Learn about the status of your financial aid application Yes

Social Security Number (SSN)

Your Social Security Number is no longer used as your Student Identification Number (SID). Find your new SID by using this screen.

Personal Identification Number (PIN)

Don’t know your PIN? Your PIN is initially your birthdate in MMDDYY format and is automatically assigned when you register for classes or are admitted to the college. If this PIN does not work, contact the Enrollment Services office at (425) 739-8104 or e-mail to We encourage you to change your PIN. If you have forgotten it, contact your faculty advisor for this number.

*Some classes may require additional codes called entry codes. For example, if a class requires instructor permission you will need an entry code. Ask your adviser or the instructor for the code before you register for classes.

Confidentiality Warning!

  • To protect your privacy, if you are using a publicly accessible computer, click on "Log Off" to completely close the browser. You should also delete the browser history when you are finished.
  • From any public computer, be sure not to accept any automatic memorization of your SID. If you do, the next user may be able to access your SID and use your PIN.

Web Browser Limitations

  • Some of the Student Toolbox tools will fail to work properly without Internet Explorer. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
