Personal Identification Numbers (PIN)

PINs are initially birthdates in format MMDDYY. If the month of your birthdate has only one digit, your PIN may be formatted MDDYY. You should change this PIN as soon as possible for greater security. We recommend changing it at least every six months, more frequently if possible. If you have lost your PIN or have not received one, please contact Registration at (425) 739-8104 or email registration@lwtech.edu.

Student Identificaton Number (SID)

Your student identification number, or SID, is a nine-digit number which identifies your student record. It is used on admission applications, registration forms and other requests for information about your record. Many students used Social Security numbers as SIDs in the past; however, this is no longer allowed and the college will assign you an SID that is not your Social Security number. Students who receive financial aid should consult the Financial Aid office about their number. In some cases, providing your Social Security number will still be required. If you already have been assigned an SID but forgot the number, click here to look it up.

Who can use these services?

Web-based information is available only to current or previously enrolled students who have a PIN (personal identification number).

Waitlists

If a class is full, you may be able to add your name to a waitlist. When space opens in the class, students are enrolled first off that waitlist before any other students can register. You can use the Waitlist menu at the left to place or remove yourself on or from a waitlist.

Other information on waitlists:

  • you cannot be placed on a waitlist if the class conflicts in time with another class you already have
  • waitlists are "turned off" after the first week of each quarter and the waitlist will be eliminated
  • when you get enrolled in a class after being on a waitlist, you will get a notice by mail in approximately 2-4 days; you can also check your schedule at any time to see if you have been enrolled yet
  • students are enrolled into a class from a waitlist in the same order they were put on the waitlist; this is truly first-come, first-served-- no one can "cut" in front of you
  • being placed on a waitlist is definitely not a guarantee you will get in a class, but it does greatly increase your chances
  • LWIT registration procedure allows you to register for one section of a course. If you register for more than one section of a course, the college will drop you from all sections except the most recent registration transaction. The college will notify you by email after making schedule changes.

You may not register for a course (example: ENGL& 101 item # XXXA) and hold a place on the wait list for another section of the same course (ENGL& 101 item # XXXB).

  • please report problems or questions to registration at registration@lwtech.edu
